The different discussions on leadership made me think about whether I am ready to start leading. The AI keynote was very mind-blowing; it made me reflect back on my own personal experience with a youth apprentice and his knowledge of using artificial intelligence.
One of the things that sticks out to me is the simplistic way we can use the lens of equity to elevate everyone. I really like the graphic that is used in these conversations of people standing in front of a fence trying to watch a baseball game, and the equity is you give everybody a box the height that they need to be able to see beyond the fence versus everybody getting the same height of a box.
It was remarkable that Dr. Sutton and her team brought the four mayors representing this region of Michiana to speak on a panel and be transparent with the audience. Also, having the different chambers represented spoke volumes. I also feel that the conversation about what I call “change agentry,” also known as organizational change, was a highlight.
